A: Absolutely. The project is still evolving, and we are actively looking for people with various expertise. We are especially interested in collaborating with groups from foreign countries that can help us with collecting data related to various crises and tragedies in their home countries.
A: We are analyzing data from News, Web 2.0, various Organizations (UN, Red Cross etc.), and Scholarly publications.
A: We are working with Internet Archive and will be using their crawlers to collect the data.
A: Mostly from Computer Science (Data and Text Mining, Information Visualization, Social Network Analysis etc.)
A: Scope and the methods. We are not only looking at covering many different kinds of crises and tragedies individually, but also taking a holistic view of things. For example, we try to see if there are any existing commonalities among different crises, and if lessons learned from one can be used to prevent crises of another kind.
